Who and What was Flying in the Night Sky of December 16, 1742?
A strange sighting occurred on Thursday, Dec. 16, 1742 about 8:40 P.M.
A witness was returning home from the Royal Society to Westminster London and in the vicinity of
the Middle of the Parade in St. James's Park. Suddenly he spotted a mysterious light arising
from behind the trees and houses.

This Week's Discussion
(August 26, 2007)
What Role Does the Media Play in the UFO Controversy?
By Ryan and Ellen Lloyd
Just a few days ago, I had a short discussion with Ryan, one of my readers. We were talking about what role
mainstream media plays in the UFO controversy. We both agreed that this question should be raised in our weekly
discussion.
I explained to Ryan that even alternative media, like UFOArea must sometimes think twice before publishing a UFO
related story.
Ryan believes that someone or some organization is maintaining a fine balance on how much information the world gets,
slowly preparing the world so that the shocking truth when eventually reveled would not have traumatic end results.
Now we would like to hear your views!

I believe that the media in all it's forms must be responsible when giving information to the public in general.
With what is going on lately with tabloids giving false info to further their pockets, hoaxers
trying to fool everyone [including themselves],theorist imposing dogmatic fantasies, people with
psychological conspiracies and finally the governments of the world lying to us all the time hiding the
truth about what really is going on , it's no wonder we get by finding out the truth of things and realities.
It's sites like this one and others that are responsible in matters of discussion that include UFO'S and Paranormal
Phenomena keeping us informed via visuals and reports in a responsible and truth full manner is what's
keeping us sharp and aware . We must create with people through the media all around the world a global conscious of
what is the truth of things in relation to this matter before it hits us in the face.
I believe that Ryan has a point about a group of people [or the others] that have an almost absolute control over
the governments and mass media filtering out that which they believe will create some form of panic be it emotional or
psychological .
Sometimes the truth is harder to digest than a fantasy.

To "hazard a guess" is to "play along" with the current trends about UFO's, no matter who or what is behind them.
If 'aliens" or "ufo's" (extra-terrestrial or intra-terrestrial) decide to show themselves... it will be on their
time schedule or not at all. All we can seem to do in the meantime is track their "residue"...their "tracks"...
what we can see, touch, or find and try to get an inkling about what goes on around us that "we" the people are
presently excluded from.
My question would be this: If all this super Sci Fi "high-life" is going on all the time all around us...
and we are not a part of it nor privy to it; then what are we here for... we aren't the audience....
we aren't the "main show"... are we:
(1) lab rats,
(2) dessert,
(3) a tolerated nuisance due to our present numbers, or
(4) What?
If "they" are waiting for us to "evolve to a tolerable level" they've got one heck of a long wait.
And, they have had millenia to bring us up to "their" level or help kick-start
the human evolution. I'd say its about time to implement Plan "B". I wonder what that might turn out to be?

One is marginalized to no end should they dare dis-agree on any highly controversial topic.

Old boys clubs are never ending "Toe the line" gain ground in the pecking order.
This excellent U F O research page shows a great deal of insight and actual courage in that their audience will
steadly increase because of their ability to go the extra mile with their convictions.
Its so very easy to stand back and go with the flow should one choose that path.

In closing I shall quote an old word of wisdom" Go as far as you can see....and when you get there....
go yet a little further".
Thank you all tremendously for your great efforts and contemporary approach.
Should there be awards for dedication none would be adequate enough to honestly show what this site offers its readers.
You are not alone as we your readers walk with you..

I agree with Ellen that we must be selective in what we publish about the UFO phenomena.
Lets stick to what we can relate to science, not rash assumptions or 'Teddy Bear' belief systems.
Also we must be considerate of others, (off of our site), as this subject can scare the heck out of
some people and/or defy their religeous beliefs.
We must also be aware that we are a fossil fuel economy and that we cannot make radical changes overnight,
(i.e. Tesla technologies, etc.), because if we did so, the stock market and the world economy would collapse.
And millions would be put out of work.
Also, we must consider the government's and the military's position.
If the government admitted outright that we were in contact with extraterrestrial entities,
(that is, if we are), some folks would panic and others would accuse them of associating with the Devil.
And lets give the military a break - they can't just outright admit that we have these little grey guys flying around,
abducting people, running breeding experiments, ( that is, if they really are), and then state publicly that
they can't do anything about it.
Not cool at all.
So while we are seriously researching this subject, lets not foget to be considerate of others.

Our State of matter has layers of complex MANipulation to deceive in various ways our infinite true nature.
This would be to understand Divine Love of creation. We are borned into a conditioned world, to accept hate and
destroy each other's tribes, with negative energies of thoughts of war.
The tool of $$$$$$ has evolved a glo-BULLY to our people's growing slavery and separation of soul [Holy Spirit].
While one third of our species population receives less than a dollar each day.
Some are slaves for a niche of income in parasitic method of ecomonies. Some are caught in corporate environmental
disaster, while others are caught in wars and famine caused by Corporates/BIG Banks.
To control our citizens of the world, the ev-il is a deception of truth in a ve-il form**** Truth is not given..
TRUTH is a universal knowledge, as deception creates Dumb and Dumber to our people's conditioning, not given the absolute
truth and to treat humans like cattle or drones
In truth, we can feed the planet twice + around. In truth, we can provide enough love, as a whole collectivity,
in caring to stop all wars in resulting death to our Mothers/Fathers/Sons/Daughters/Brothers and Sisters of our
family tree of this planet. In truth,we can provide helping education in health and spiritual development to our
home-EARTH in healing. In truth, knowing you are a HOST that parasites can feed on your energies-emotions included.
If a higher being could share knowledge from the cosmos to humanity. In teaching us, self healing and free energy
manipulation.Who loses control of the masses of slavery of the economic wheel of fortune?
Negative control is taken away through creation, of healing. It is a solo flight for each human in their life cycle,
to their next destination. You can love and help within yourself- then share and teach the love and help upon others.
Or you can sell your soul for your next level to be gone to a lower vibrational level state.
Out of the nest push to occur **** Dec. 21, 2012 for the wave of harmonics.

I am a simple person, living a simple life. I definitely believe we are being prepared to accept some
greater truth. Too many people are seeing too many unexplained things. Frankly, I am just tired of the whole affair.
If there is something we should know just have them come on David Letterman and announce it.
We will deal with it like we always do, then get on with our lives.

August 26, 2007
The discussion topic of the involvement of the media in reporting the UFO phenomena has been mostly to date in the UK, one
of rediculing events with inaccurate data. The Guardian for instance did a piece about Rendlesham Forest where one of the
American Servicemen on the base that night said they had been chasing his pick-up truck with high lights around the
perimeter.I wrote to the journalist concerned, asking where the hell can you buy one of these trucks that takes off
vertically and flies out over the North Sea? He did the same with Roswell and the weather balloon angle.
I forwarded him links to all the first and second hand accounts of servicemen involved in the clean up at Roswell.
There are some signs of progress, The Daily Mail reported the large mile wide craft seen over the Channel
Islands two months ago. We have also had groups of UFOs flying over Islington in North London which were captured on
video and covered by the local newspaper the "Islington Gazette" I think you can still watch that on their website.
We have also had groups of five large orange coloured craft over Brighton on the south coast and more recently over the
county of Surrey which is just south of London.
Finally in Southampton once again on the south coast someone caught a procession of UFOs flying over his back garden,
I think approximately six in total. In all these cases they have been covered by the local newspapers and the local TV
stations. I think the video evidence in particular is very difficult for them to debunk or ignore, so we are seeing a
slow change in attitudes in the mainstream media, but there is still lots of room for improvement.
Best Wishes

What little attention that is given to this all-too-important issue is usually the fluff piece of local/national news.
(Usually followed by the sarcastic grin and a wink from one anchor to the other). It certainly didn't help matters when a
respected journalist like Peter Jennings hosted the homogenized, filtered, edited and approved ABC special a few years
back. (If I see one more story using the music from the "X-Files Theme", my higher consciousness is going to scream).
Don't discount or scoff at the notion of government-controlled media. As long as greed and capitalism remain at the
forefront of their narrow minds, this little entity of power-hungry madmen (read: Cabal) will continue to confuse the
population with disinformation blended with the Truth. We are being "conditioned" for the Truth, the overwhelming demand
for information has forced governments (Brazil, France, etc) to come clean with their reports. Fight as they might, you
can't stop a runaway train. It is happening now.
We who know there is more beyond ego and have escaped the choking reins of organized religion don't require scientific
proof of other forms of races - it is known from within. And more and more of us are awakening at such a rate as never
seen before. When our violence-driven society bottoms out and the conspirators are exposed, and it will happen on or about
12/21/12, the Universal and Spiritual Laws will usurp Mother Earth and we will unite as One with our interplanetary
brothers.

I don't really know if we are being manipulated for
some purpose. But I feel another concern is how
governments are feeding us fears over the decades.
First, it was the cold war and now the fear is
terrorism. If that fizzles out would the next fear
mongering to drag out would be aliens from outer
space? Fear is one of the easiest ways to control and
manipulate the masses. Would one of the reasons it is
kept under secrecy is to hold it as another fear card?

Hello again!
I'am glad to be particapating in contributing my opinion's to the topic of discussion.
I think the media plays a big role on a multidude of levels and on the one hand.
It seems to discount reports and important incidents and present the viewer with every other reason
other than being not of this earth.
As well as presenting UFO's in the most negative light possible which as we know.
For the media sells the most newspapers and the media should work on bring a balance to it's reporting.
Between so called negative incidents and the more postive ones as
well and the people. Behind the scenes of what as know as the secret government are
using the media to bring the more negative aspects of this controversy. It seems very convinet to blame the
aliens when something goes wrong with back engineering there technology and the media seems to
buy into that story alot lately.Let us not forget as well from the media and mostly TV, radio and movies.
That the theme being played out from the late forties and the begining of the sixties was that nothing
good can come from outer space and then.
After the Kenndey assination the theme changed to a more positive outlook such as full discloser.
Living and working and traveling with aliens and becoming part of an intergalatic United Nations as it were.
Sound familiar well it should because from 1964 on the first episode of Star Trek aired and that wasn't the
first or the last. We the people started to be bombarded with images of aliens and other w-
orlds especially the messages that they would bring to us.
So in my estimation the media
was used this way and carefully leak information but don't do it in a way that excites the
general public to much.About there arrival here on Earth or the reality of there exsistence
and as they say the rest is history! This concludes my comments and answers to this co-
ntroversy and I hope it gets posted on your newsletter. However if it doesn't I'am glad to co-
ntribute anyway and I look forward to more chances to do so in the future.
Goodbye for now from,

I think that we all should be careful when we read about anything in the newspapers.
I was really excited by Project Camelot's disclosure of their Serpo planet story.
I am still not sure if this is a true story or a falsehood.
It is imporatant to research what we read and hear about everything, I believe.
I am listening to coast to coast am with George Noory at this time and he has a guest on named John J Harper,
who is a 'futurist' and a physicst.
This is a very fascinating show, but it is not hard science.
It is basically theoretical science and must be proven.
Objective quality evidence is what i did for a living for 20 years with DOD US gov't.
This technique must be used in the study of the paranormal and anything else, IMHO.
I do believe in what i have been reading and hearing about our tuning into a new age, the Age of Aquarius.
I do believe that humankind is on the verge of being evolved into a new and higher 4th dimension.
I do believe that sciece will science will understand the meanings of Time, speed of lite, the composition of
the universe, zero point energy et al.
and i am excited about all of this.. i do believe that we are in for a very excity next 6 years......

It amazing to see such a good response its exciting to know that there are so many people out there that have
their veils removed and can see clearly but sadly the majority still refuse to see the truth and even if they are not
blind to see they still refuse to believe the truth.
Schools, colleges and religions have done an excellent job in programming and conditioning mankind’s sponge like
minds ever since history was recorded but have totally ignored and never even bought to mankind’s attention the
multitude of real and valuable prehistory information that could crash all the so called recorded history and beliefs
that have been fed to us because if they did the powerful would become powerless and the greedy would have nobody to
satisfy their greed. The media under influence continues their best to keep the blinds down, after all if you look at
it they are doing a good job but I believe also that there are news agencies and journalist out there that strive for
truth and justice in respect to all news and not just UFO or paranormal but because of their limits and lack of power
could also be leaving behind hidden messages and clues for us all to see but then again there are also news channels
(e.g. BBC) that have covered ufo sightings and also have interviewed relevant authorities who gave no proper
explaination, but in spite of not getting an earthly explanation from the authorities the story is just forgotten
and never followed up by the news agency or even by the people., why such earth shattering information is considered
to be of no importance is beyond my imagination.
This has been best summarized by Dr.Greer, regarded as the world's foremost authority on the subject of ET intelligence.
“Amid the clamor of a world hurtling towards the next century, a great secret has been kept from humanity which may
hold the key to our future. This secret is hidden in plain sight and yet remains unacknowledged by most.
It is discussed widely in popular culture -
but its import and meaning remain elusive.”

Media role regarding UFO's? Whatever the current Pentagon strategy dictates.
Billion$$$ requested for arms in space, on moons, or planets... OK!
Just launch that campaign about the Alien Threat (got a large array of horror stories, ready to go) and the
clamp will readily shut up anybody daring to say it isn't so... As simple as that.

So far we have only discussed mainstream media, but what about alternative media?
Should an alternative site like ours publish recent UFO sightings, even though we
consider some of them to be doubtful and perhaps even fakes? I am asking because I think that alternative media
has a certain responsibility as well and I think that publishing all UFO related stories (even if they are big news)
can actually do more harm than good. Would be interesting to know what you think...

“Seeing is Believing” that’s what most of them say but yet that same multitude have faith and beliefs in
religions even though they have not “seen” any concrete evidence of God. The evidence that does exist from
our prehistory about Gods has only a few of us “seeing” the obvious and the rest of them brushing it off as
Mythology, Caveman fantasy or Legends.
I feel it’s the responsibly of alternative media like UfoArea to cover all aspects and stories of UFO’s and
extraterrestrial intelligence in an unbiased way. It should be sincere in its reporting, by being be able to give
explanations of fake sightings and by not exaggerating unexplained ones, by giving more in depth coverage of Ufo
related stories and having a more balanced view the people should be given a chance to decide for themselves what is
real and what is fake. After all it is this type of journalism that separates the “Tabloids” from the “Broadsheets” and
everyone knows which of the two is more respected. What I am trying to say is that if alternate medias like Ufoarea can
show the people that it is equally ready to debunk fakes just as any other respected media then people (non believers)
would take it and its readers more seriously and not think of this topic as something only for the loonies or the typical
“Heavens Gate” followers.
Now this is a comment on another site from someone about the ufoarea website.
(Much UFO and paranormal articles here. I think these people are totally passionate about what they do.
I just hope they aren't too out of touch with reality. Oh well. We're all a little out of touch with reality.
Come to think of it, how am I defining "reality" here? I'm not even sure what reality is. So, keep on searching
for answers UFO people, someone has to do the dirty work, that's how I look at it.)
I mean what do they actually mean
by “these people” and “UFO People” I think it’s the duty of alternative media to bridge
this gap and bring the “normal people” more closer to “these people” or “UFO people” with facts and truth.
Ryan
August 31, 2007
The key to an answer is embedded in your question: Should an alternative site like ours publish recent UFO
sightings....
UFO Area can and should publish recent UFO sightings because its prestige as a serious research-based site is well
established. Your readers trust your judgement and a simple disclaimer will do whenever the reported case doesn't
meet your standards. This way you comply with two fundamentally important criteria: the right the public has to know and
freely make up their minds as to the credibility of the report; plus your expected guidance according to your experience.
In other words, if you publish a case that seems doubtful, you simply state that UFO Area will not endorse the veracity of
the information. Of course, there may be cases that seem really extreme --- extremely absurd, or offensive,
I mean. In such a case, the trash bin is the only way to go. This is a rule that applies to communications in general,
I think. To walk that fine line between freedom and respect for intelligence requires a bit of extra work, or
pondering. But you are quite well-disciplined for the task, as your work has demonstrated once and again.
Good luck!

Hi Ellen,
your idea of questioning about alternate media is another avenue of verified information and disinformation.
The immense wealth of information of alternate media, helps evalute topics not much heard or discussed in mainstream media.
There are various sites bringing a uniqueness of information that contains common demoninators to watch for --
{ie.. cross references}.Each person must have the drive and memory to search-- ufo-------U Find Out.
The person wanting to personally investigate would have a signature of open minded thoughts and ideas to connect in
theory of any given data collected and analysed. Conclusions and summaries can stray in Ufologist's circles.
Mainly due to proper or improper information/evaluation/personal belief. But more importantly,, the Investigator's EGO
in the field. Some folks feel they have all the answers- just read their books.Others are placed to stagnate the waters...
The time has come for all folks interested to hand in their stories to one another..
To simply come forward to their local ufologist's group and submitt their stories to be heard.
I'm guessing we only hear of 2-5 % of ufo sightings and even far less in percentage of Alien Abduction/Contactee cases.
Do Ufologists have enough data to even conclude in truth about Alien Agenda ? Are you scared ??? There are lots of
stories that would make a great Science Fiction Movie-- ie..Taken -----Is it a true story ? ?
Depends on one's experience I suppose ! Have you been taken ? Can the average person believe or disbelieve a whopper of a
story, not told before to them before?.Maybe it depend on what one remembers seeing or experiencing-even as a child.
Also how open is the
person who listens or reads the information. How does the individual react ?
Just some thoughts to share Ellen.

The Alien question has been with us, (humans) for millennia.
Is it really so hard to accept them as observers? The Universe as a whole must be a totally fascinating place with
its diverse life forms, its many dimensions, and its one God.
For me it is not a question of, "do they exist", or what do they want with us, its a question of "THEY"
as being separate from us, which they are not, we all are the same, as it pertains to LIFE. Only when we come to
know this "Oneness" will any of it truly make sense.
For thousands of years, Shaman, and Holy men have been telling us, all are one, and now even so called science
is slowly coming around to that FACT!
So how about we stop looking at THEM, as some kind of freak in a jar and just accept we are all brothers, and
sisters, in a wonderfully diverse creation.
Michael
