On September 9, 2007, the UFO Area Newsletter
introduced a new section,'SCIENCE in FOCUS', its initial article being, 'True
Science vs 'Teddy Bear ' Belief
Systems', thus establishing the purpose for this
section!
As our readers are well aware, the UFO Area Newsletter
offers articles primarily about subjects which were at one time, considered to
be outrageous and impossible - controversial, to say the least, and which legitimate
science avoided like the plague!
|
However, in view of all the latest discoveries over
the past decade in Theoretical
Physics and Quantum Mechanics as well as in other
areas in science and medicine,
such topics have now become 'Main Stream' research
except for those few 'Old
Timer's' who insist on clinging to 'Teddy Bear Belief
Systems', that is, outmoded,
obsolete, scientific theories that have been proven to
be 'False', or at the very least,
'Questionable'!
|
|
Anyone doubting these statements need
only consult our current NASA researchers as, with all of the data being
returned by our latest space probes, their previous 'pet theories' have been turned totally
upside down!
All of our past articles in SCIENCE in FOCUS have
attempted to explain some of
these new findings about various, controversial
subjects in a logical,
understandable, and palatable way for the average
reader, at times, a daunting
task! This is why we elicit comments from our
readers: 'Tell us what you think!',
'Send us your comments'! In addition to this, we have
now established a 'Members
Forum' whereby, members in our readership can actively
communicate, not only
with us, but with each other, about all of the
subjects covered in our Newsletter!
It is important for us to understand our reader's
preferences, requirements, and
future questions concerning the various subjects
presented! In this way, we will be
better able to serve you!
More particular, our readers may have many 'incidents'
and/or 'ideas' they might
wish to share but may have been reluctant to do so in
the past for fear of 'ridicule'
and/or 'harassment'! Rest assured that all
communications with us are kept
confidential and only published at the reader's
request! Also, our readers my use
'pseudo-names' and/or 'identifiers' to conceal their
true identity and location if they
so desire!
We also, fully realize that there will always be a few
frauds, hoaxes, and
contributions by individuals with 'over-active'
imaginations and we make every
attempt to 'filter out' such offerings but
occasionally, a few get by and this makes
'feed back' from our readers all the more important!
And there are also the 'Dyed-in the -Wool', skeptics
and the absolute, "True Believers' who are so firmly entrenched in their
'Teddy Bear Belief Systems' that no
amount of persuasion will budge them from their
'convictions' no matter how much 'real' evidence to the contrary is presented! In this
regard, our readers should
review our past article, 'Debunking The Debunkers',
Part 1, (Part 2 was never published due to its controversial nature -
'Discretion is the better part of valor'!),
and refer in particular to Stanton Friedman's, 'The
Debunkers Ten Commandments'! This article is available, along with
all of our other past articles
in 'SCIENCE in FOCUS', in our 'Members Archives'!
|
What is even more disastrous to true, scientific
inquiry are the highly respected,
highly placed, 'Academic Nay Sayers' who really do a
disservice to the scientific
community! Here is a typical example:
|
|
During the 1960s, Sheldon Glashow proposed the
existence of three intermediate
bosons, the w+, w-, and Z null particles. In the
1970s, Steven Weinberg and Abdus
Salam wrote a paper postulating the existence of such
particles. All of the 'Nay
Sayers' violently opposed the paper saying that if
they published 'such nonsense', it
would ruin their careers!
In 1983, Carlo Rubbia and Simon van der Meer, using
the Super Proton
Synchroton, (SPS), at the gigantic physical research
complex at CERN, Switzerland,
discovered w+, w-, and Z null particles! Only one
year later, they were presented
with the Nobel Prize for their discovery!
The late Richard Feynman, Ph.D., one of our most
knowledgeable and respected
theoretical physicists, had this to say:
"The greatest contributions to science have been made
by 'Mavericks' who 'stepped
out of the box', preservered in spite of all
obstacles, made every mistake in the book
until they came up with the right answers, and were
eventually awarded Nobel
Prizes!
Need we say more?
And now, with the latest addition to the CERN
facility, the 'Large Hadron Collider',
(LHC), a super particle collider with a circumference
of 17 miles and located 300 to
500 feet underground, which will come on line this
year, undoubtedly, many more
'scientific noble truths', will go by the wayside!
The most important experiment will
be the search for the 'God Particle', the illusive
'Higgs Particle' which allows matter
to have 'Mass' and thus, exist! We are looking
forward to this!

engine to access this article!)
NASA also has an educational program for students, 7th
Grade onward, whereby
any student interested in space exploration, using
real scientific data, may become a
'Solar System Surveyor'!
The Mission:
Find and establish a space Colony or Space Station
somewhere within our Solar
System!
Restrictions:
It cannot be located within Earth's orbit, the Moon's
orbit, or on the Moon.
In addition, due to budget constraints, this Colony or
Station, once established,
must be self-supporting.
All students participating in the program will have
complete access to all of the
unrestricted files in NASA's CalTech Library!
Upon completion of the project, they are to submit
their entire study to NASA at
CalTech for evaluation and acceptance or rejection!
In addition to this, students may also submit a paper
detailing all of the duties and
responsibilities which might be incurred by any member
of such a 'Colony Space
Team', the problems which they might encounter, and
how they would go about
solving them! In other words, they can play the role
of any member(s) they so
choose! This paper would also be submitted to NASA at
CalTech for evaluation!
So dear reader, never say 'you can't make a
difference'! Many of our greatest
discoveries and technical innovations have been made
by ordinary people, some
with little formal education, who were willing to
'step out of the box', 'take the
plunge', and go forth on to success! So do not
hesitate to make your own
contributions! You might just make a 'big difference'
- its happened before!
One last note! There will always be disagreements and
alternate proposals just as
there are in the real world of scientific research,
(the many different variations in
'String Theory' are good examples of this)! However,
such alternatives and
disagreements must be presented in an ethical,
professional manner, sitting counter
facts, etc.! No derogatory, demeaning, or denigrating
comments will tolerated or
published! Nor will 'Rabid Debunkers' be allowed to
subvert our scientific efforts!
There will be lots more to come in SCIENCE in FOCUS!
Stay Tuned!
