UFOArea received the following submission from Gil Williamson, UK.
This is a photograph of what appears to be a contrail made up of "pulses", as well as an unknown flying object.

Gil writes:
The attached shot I took in Aug 2006, was of a high flying twin engined jet liner
in the skies over North Yorkshire, UK. Ignore the date set by the camera.
The unusual thing about the con trail is that it was made up of "pulses"
which were coming out something like the smoke rings that smokers can
blow.

Unfortunately this photo was taken just as the pilot turned off whatever
type of engine he was using. The plane had been flying circular patterns over
the area and the previous two circuits contained these pulses all the way
round. As I said, unfortunately I was still driving towards my friend's
farm and was not able to catch the best of the pulsed patterns, but you can
still see four of them below the light aircraft in the shot and slightly to the
left. Yes it is a light plane and not a UFO. Behind the light plane you can see
where the pulses have rapidly vapourised.
After these two circuits of pulsed trails the plane then continued to fly two
more circuits of conventional con trails, one coming off each of the two
engines. I have recently read something about electromagnetic pulse
engines. Is this possibly one of them on a secret trial?
Here is an object hovering above the town of Masham, that was not apparent
to the naked eye. You will need to zoom in to the area to the left of the Church
Spire and in the middle of four prominent trees in the forground.
There were definitely no aircraft or helicopters in the air at the time I took the
photo.
Kind Regards,
Gil Williamson

Comments from our readers:
I saw two planes in Iraq with the same kind of contrail. They literally
look like donuts on a string.
Basically, its a form of propulsion. Thing along the lines of a "Ram
jet" engine. It pulses or rams the energy through the jet engine system.
The result is a contrail that looks more cartoon than real
Have heard someone speak about it from experience. Operation Aurora??? I
cant remember ... but its something like that
