The Viewer first, 'grounds' him or her self, (enters a relaxed state and quiets Left Brain 'thinking'),
activity by what
would best be described as, "Pack up your troubles in your ole' kit bag!".
The Viewer
visualizes a container, (a suitcase, a sea chest, a laundry hamper - Viewer's choice - anything will do),
and visualizes discarding all worldly cares, one at a time, depositing them into the chosen container, after
which, when all such thoughts are 'dumped', closes and locks the lid.
The Viewer is now ready for the exercise.

The Beacon at this same time, goes to the repository
and randomly selects an envelope and the clerk writes down the coordinates.
No words are exchanged.
The clerk goes to the Viewing Room and gives the coordinates to the Monitor.
This Viewing Room is bare except for a table, two chairs, a recorder, a pad of blank paper, and a few pens.
|
|
The Beacon goes directly to his or her car and opens
the envelope which contains the picture of the target and directions on how to get there. No personal
contact is allowed with the Beacon by anyone.
The Beacon drives directly to the site and at the appropriate time, positions him or her self so as to view the target.
After about one half hour,
the Beacon returns to the Institute and gives the envelope to the Monitor. No words are allowed to be spoken.
The Session:
At the appropriate time, the Monitor gives the coordinates to the Viewer. The Viewer writes them down in an upper corner
of a blank piece of paper, then, placing his or her pen in the center of the paper, automatically scribbles a large
ideogram, (like automatic writing). The Monitor
then guides the Viewer in his or her perceptions,
(textures, sights, smells, tastes, sounds, colors, movements, etc.).
The end product is an approximate sketch of the target which is then compared to the photo in the envelope.
A well trained Viewer will most always score
at least a 65% success rate. A person with natural psychic abilities will most often score an 85% to 100% successrate.

Like all government projects, the Remote Viewing Project at SRI came up for a budget review.
A certain female 'budget cutter' upon reviewing this project flatly stated that she was not about to allocate
thousands of dollars of the tax payers money to a bunch of 'kooky crystal
ball gazers' and that she was going out there to investigate this crazy, obviously fraudulent, project herself.
|
|
She was welcomed with open arms and given the 'cook's tour' of the project and allowed to observe and participate
in each part. She was still not convinced. One morning, she entered the Institute and flatly stated,
"TODAY, I'M GOING TO BE THE BEACON ALL BY MYSELF!". She picked up her envelope, went directly to her car,
but, instead of going to the target in the photo, she went to a nearby Marina and at the
appropriate time, sat watching the sail and fishingboats. She then returned to the Institute, strode
proudly into the Viewing Room, and handed her envelope triumphantly to the Monitor. The photo was compared
to the sketch where upon the Monitor stated frankly, "Well, sorry, we really blew this one! The photo
shows a control tower at a nearby airport and what we have here looks like a Marina with fishing and sailboats!".
She returned to Washington, funded the program, resigned her position as a 'budget cutter', and joined
the Army's Remote Viewing Unit at Fort Meade. Upon completion of training, she became one of the
Unit's best Remote Viewers. For advanced training, the use of the envelopes was discarded and the Beacons
were sent to various foreign countries to view historic places. This advanced program was equally successful.
The Aquarius Project:
As previously stated, this project was established by Hal Putoff for the Navy. The training was quite
different and Beacons were not used. Trainees were sent to the Monroe Institute in Faber, Virginia
established by the late Robert Monroe, a communications executive. Here, Viewers were trained
in altered consciousness states for 'grounding' procedures the details for which are to long and
complicated to relate in this short article.
(The readers my learn more about this procedure by accessing the Monroe Institute on the Internet.)
After a lengthy period of training and practice, a
presentation was organized for certain military officials with the appropriate security clearances.
The Viewer was seated at a table on which were placed eight pictures of Soviet submarines. The Viewer
entered a altered consciousness state, viewed each picture in detail, and then wrote the latitude and
longitude of the current location of each of the vessels on top of each picture which were already
known by Puthoff. Five were correct, two were fairly close, and one was off entirely probably due to the
prolonged duration of the sesson which probably overtaxed the Viewer to the utmost.
There is much more to learn about Remote Viewing and the reader is encouraged to read the appropriate
references which will be provided at the end of this series. But for now, we will leave it there and in Part 6,
we will explore the phenomena of what is referred to as the 'Vivid Dream'.
Stay tuned!
