We also reviewed how martial arts practitioners and Special Forces personnel used such powers.

However, we must remember that these persons train diligently and continuously to acquire these powers for very specific purposes and thus their use in this respect does not apply to the average individual.

We also discussed how in times of serious emergencies and warfare, average individuals were able to summon such superhuman abilities after which, they seem to magically disappear. Why? Why can't us average mortals summon these energies at will on a daily basis?

To answer that question we must first review a certain amount of human history. A brief note to the reader: For the remainder of this article we shall refer to these hidden energy potentials as (E).

From the times of the first cavemen and on up to the time of the Industrial Revolution, while man made use of many, ever increasing mechanical innovations to assist him in work and warfare, the use and manufacture of such devices still required the use of brute force, and at times, superhuman strength which, from continuous use, was easily summoned at will. It was a mere matter of survival.

Now comes the advent of such modern devices as the steam engine and later, the electric motor and the internal combustion engine which lessoned to a great degree, this use of physical brute force. It then began to fall into disuse through the natural selection process.

With the advent of the 20th Century, came a plethora of modern energy saving innovations requiring less and less use of these hidden energy potentials, (E), and in our current 21 Century, the average human has all but been reduced to a sedentary, 'junk food' couch potato which incidentally has become a major health concern. Thus, as previously stated, the active use of (E) has become dormant through the process of natural selection.

So now we find the use of (E) mostly unavailable - or do we? Let us consider the following two scenarios:

On a cold rainy night you are on your way to an important meeting and in the middle of no where, you have a flat tire. And wouldn't you know, that last lug nut won't budge, you have left that rubber mallet in the garage, there is no extra length of pipe around to provide additional leverage, and to make matter worse, your cell phone is dead. In the heat of anger and frustration, uttering a stream of unprintable abuses, you give one last determined pull on the lug wrench and miraculously, the lug nut comes loose. You have just used (E)!

How about the previously mentioned 100 pound, 5' 2", eyes of blue? Is there any need for her to summon up (E) in this modern age? You bet there is. Picture this: She is attempting to open a mason jar of preserves that has been sitting on the shelf for several years and the lid is if welded shut. No matter what techniques or implements she applies, the lid just won't budge. But out of rage and frustration, she makes just one more last ditch attempt and 'presto', the lid comes loose often times breaking the jar which usually necessitates a quick trip to the emergency room for some stitches. She has just summoned up (E).

At this point, we ask the reader to step out of the box so to speak and contemplate moments when he or she has inadvertently conjured up (E) under similar circumstances. Think hard! You might be surprised.

With that we will leave the physical potential and explore the mental which we will discuss in Part 3. I can assure you, you will be quite surprised.
