Recent admissions by Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Nobutaka Machimura that he believes UFO are real could give some
of on Santa’s’ “nice list” hope that your wish would be grated and governments would open up their files
and confirm that extraterrestrial contact has been made.

Of course the typical bureaucratic response followed and Japan has no official stance on the UFO question.
However, if we
can speculate, I wonder what would have happened if Japan or any major world power did officially confirm, capitulate and
disclose all of their UFO secrets?
Would that have been the start of a cascading series of events ending with the Unities States Government finally admitting
the truth about extraterrestrial contact?

Although I have been skeptical
http://www.ufoarea.com/aas_fulldisclosuretruth_sl.html that the US Government would ever disclose UFO facts without an
incentive, in the spirit of Christmas, let me explore with you a possible scenario of how disclose might occur.
To frame this hypothetical, let’s first establish that the reason for disclose is not due to imminent attach or
colonization from alien invaders.
That equation would be too dynamic to make any educated assumptions.
Let’s just suppose that the US Government makes the decision to disclose the truth about UFOs to the general public.
Perhaps this is due to pressure from the public, other world powers or the newly elected president makes an executive
decision to disclose the truth.

Regardless of who or why the decision is made to disclose the truth about extraterrestrial contact I would be curious as to
what the message would be.
I see two possible courses of actions.
Explain it all or start with historical events.
The least painful route would be for the government to disclose all of the facts and findings related to an event in the
past.
|
The reason for this course of action is obvious: self preservation, a continued control on the information and less
liability.
Let’s assume that while the press slumbers over the holiday season either this year or the next, our government decided to
reveal all relevant documents and finding about the UFO crash site in Roswell New Mexico.
|
|
Staged over the holidays so that the attention of
the press would be minimal, this would in-turn soften the blow and lesson the amount of critical questions.
Because most, if not all, of the players in the Roswell conspiracy are now deceased, the events of 1947 are a matter of
history. This eliminates accountability from all government officials in the past and places many years distance between
the current administration and those who covered up the truth way back then.
The likely spin from the government would either be that new documents where recently discovered or an effort has been made
to resolve any security concerns about the events of July, 1947 near Roswell, New Mexico.
http://www.ufoarea.com/crashes_roswell.html)
“As such, the truth about the real events of Roswell can now be shared with the general public.” A junior white house
spokesperson would declare on December 29th.
Although few, who happened to know about this press conference, would be riveted to the unfolding events I’m sure that the
pace and level of disclosure would be crafted in such as way as to not lead to the type of
mass hysteria and panic that occurred after the The War of the Worlds radio broadcast in 1938.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_War_of_the_Worlds_(radio)
What would the Government say? If all speculation about Roswell is accurate, not only would this information be astounding
but also a validation and vindication of many UFO believers the world over.
The aftermath of such a revelation is rather fluid and unpredictable.
But I can speculate on a few probable effects.
Before we become enamored with scope of this disclosure we must acknowledge the painful and self-introspective part of this
hypothetical situation.
This disclosure would ultimately lead to a painful state of affairs for the government.
We shouldn’t forget that the price for this secrecy has been measured in the suspension of citizens’ rights.
Intimidation and perhaps worse, has occurred at Roswell and beyond to keep this UFO truth secret from the general
populous.
Maybe the government could justify their actions under the guise of national security, but that argument would seem weak in
relationship to the profound revelations of what the press would label “Roswell Exposed”.
Unless the governments story was air tight and self contained I can’t image a scenario in which this story would fade away
into the back ground the next time a Hollywood star enters rehab.
It is a story that would not go away.
What of you, the believers of extraterrestrial contact and the conspiracy to cover it up?
After the shock and acceptance of this finally happening I would predict that a few self congratulatory New Years toasts
would be given and then plans and plots would begin to formulate.
I think our vary natures would predict the next course of action.
The real truth about seekers of full disclosure is summed up by a children’s allegory.
“If you give a mouse a cookie, he is going to ask for a glass of milk…”
http://www.amazon.com/You-Give-Mouse-Cookie-Give/dp/0060245867
In the end, I would doubt that all Ufologists would accept the official government position on Roswell, even if evidence of
the spacecraft and the bodies was presented.
There would still be a level of doubt, speculation and distrust.
But more importantly our appetite would not be satisfied with just Roswell.
Unless we could fully accept that the government has no agenda or reason to conceal the truth,
there would still be elements of the UFO question that would be concealed from the public.
And the clamor for more disclosure would intensify. Unfortunately this is yet another reason for
the US Government to never disclose the truth.
Perhaps 2008 will be the year that the US Government decided to confirm and disclose facts and evidence about
extraterrestrial contact.
But to be on the safe side, I would recommend that you keep your list to Santa focused on more probable gifts like clothes,
electronics and toys.
Happy Terrestrial Holidays!
