Nowhere else in the United States, has nature created such unbelievable and amazing forms like on
the Colorado plateau.
Over millions of years, two great companions, wind and weather have created the most unimagined
and unearthly landscape in this part of the world.
This landscape is timeless and eternal.
Thousands of miles of strange canyons on the Colorado Plateau are full of weird rock structures which
could have been created only by the powers of nature.
There are potholes, mysterious grottoes, diverse pouroffs and rincons.
There are windows and cliff-walls riddled with honeycombing or pitted with smooth, shell-like fractures.
One of many astonishing monuments are sandstone towers and diverse solitary monoliths.
The Colorado Plateau have also thousands of natural stone arches of all sizes and bridges
at least five with spans of more than 200 feet!
The Anasazi people or the "Ancient Ones" dominated the Colorado Plateau for hundreds of years. This
mysterious civilization left little record of its existence.
All what's left are ruins, pottery shards, cliff dwellings and rock art. From this legacy it is difficult
to learn how the "Ancient Ones" lived, what they believed and first of all: Who were they?

The Colorado Plateau is very ancient.
It is at least 500 million years old and probably
much older.
This magical place is not only one plateau but filled with
at least 25 major plateaus, hundreds of mesas and other formations which never end.

Many deep alcoves can be found along the Kokopelli Trail. This special place of Colorado Plateau is
devoted to Kokopelli, a god of the harvest.
His figure has been discovered in ancient ruins spreading from New Mexico to California.
According to the Anasazi or the "Ancient Ones" the god of rain, fertility and prosperity.
He was also a wandering musician and magician.
The Horseshoe Bend is said to be one of the most beautiful views of the Colorado river which
flows between straight rock walls and then makes a 180 degrees turn!
Unknown and furious powers of nature were present in this unique place known as the Colorado
Plateau. It is almost hard to believe that everything was created only by wind and weather...
